Since 1987, CASA New Orleans has helped to make a difference in the lives of foster children in Orleans Parish. Although we have trained hundreds of volunteers who have served thousands of children over the years, we still need your help!

What is CASA?
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA New Orleans trains diligent, committed everyday citizens to stand up for abused and neglected children -- Volunteers are taught how to advocate for the best interest of foster children who are under the jurisdiction of Orleans Parish Juvenile Court. By getting involved, volunteers can help break the cycle of child abuse. Being a CASA Volunteer is an opportunity which has the ability to impact multiple generations in the future.

CASA Testimonials
"CASA protects the lives of children, but in the scheme of the big picture, CASA helps to save us all (the child, the parent, the community and the world);  It also makes us all better people."

-- Connie Lavigne, CASA New Orleans Volunteer

"As a CASA you come to understand the need for consistency in the life of a child in the foster care system.   My experience demonstrates that children must have someone who believes in them, who is not judgmental, and who never gives up.   Consider my current case:   In the last 18 months, my CASA child has had eight OCS Case Managers, four separate placements, and only one CASA. "

-- Rusell Rehm, CASA New Orleans Volunteer
